Several aspects worth mentioning.
First is productivity rate, the Chinese are amongst the hardest working people on the planet. I worked in engineering construction for more than 20 years. The only people who work at the same rate were the South Koreans.

Also, they don’t need to sit around and wait for city inspector at every stage of the construction. In Vancouver, you can easily spend up to 1 month or even more just doing nothing waiting for city inspector to show up to do their inspections.

ive lived in some of these fabulous chinese buildings of recent. to see how they fall apart after 5 years is kind of amazing. now they wont fall over mind you but the lack of quality in which they are built is dreadful and that lack of quality deteriorates quickly. then because no one will maintain them things never get fixed or repaired. this again adds to the quick aging of the building. it really is something to experience first hand.

To be honest Bill, I can''t talk to what you have experienced
However, my two homes in China have 2 ft of reinforced concrete for a roof, the underground car parks are 40 ft down and capable of withstanding a nuclear blast
The hospitals they have built are temporary, therefore you wouldn''t expect the same standards

Bill Parrish
you are correct about the parking garages. i believe that it is specified by the government that they must be built to act as a bomb shelter. that is why you always see those massive doors that shut off stairways and elevators.

and could you imagine if the Chinese could build in america one world trade center could have been built in a fraction of the time

Imagine american labor price as cheap as China

Yeah, they’re leaving the rest of the world in their dust. Ever ask why they had to erect a hospital that fast? Eating bats, infecting millions, plague, hundreds dead and growing? Sound familiar?

Peter Brown
Actually no, suggest you check the BBC and find out the bat allegation yourself, it was some pacific Island, as I recall. As for the rest of your comment, you are aware that there are 10,000 dead, 180 000 in hospital and 20 million sick from flu in the US, must be all that bush meat, road kill and bats they eat - familiar eh
