There is an advantage to China to allow Tesla to operate. Tesla has a lot of leading edge tech work happening in the battery area, and China’s manufacturing prowess will provide benefits to both the U.S. and China.
If China were to really want to hurt the US, then forget Tesla. Ban Apple. Apple does not produce anything in the USA and all their products are made in China. Apple would be brought to its knees and that would hit the US economy hard.
China does not have to ban apple, US is working on do it for China by force apple to take down Wechat.
There are still 12 million users in US affected by this Trump order. What a shame.
Even if china bans tesla, I think they will remotely disable all the cars in china with a small change in Code. After all tesla is more of a software company than a auto manufacturer.
They bring technology, money into China, hire Chinese, pay taxes in China, obey Chinese laws!
Why would China ban Tesla?
It may not be long before all the tesla motors of the world are made in China!
China is a manufacturing paradise!
No place can catch up with China in a short time!
Even if the US bans trade with China, China will not ban US companies from investing in China!
There is no reason for China to ban US companies from investing in China!
I think it is because China feels comfortable for the current international economical system, but the US wants to change it.
The US took many actions to break the economical order, like banning some Chinese companies, but China wanted to keep the current order, so China don’t want to take similar actions.
Why would they? Tesla brings in capital to China, creates hundreds of good paying jobs, brings in engineering experience. Banning Tesla doesn’t help the Chinese one bit .
the problem with America politics is the American politicians want results right now and they do not want to do something that will result in benefiting another politician in the future. China has plans for the future and Tesla is the future; banning Tesla is like banning the future.
Chinese government wants to attract high profile companies like Tesla to set up business in China. Doing this would encourage Chinese car industry to learn from and compete with the best in the world. In the long run that benefits Chinese economy.
Why stop Tesla?
We welcome the technological development of electric vehicles, Tesla needs the market, and our domestic electric vehicle enterprises need excellent competitors to let them know that it is death to not catch up with Tesla.
The most important thing is that our domestic electric vehicle enterprises have the ability of not relying on market protection.
